大刀屻位於新界西北，又稱「大頭羊」或「南大刀屻」，主峰高度566米，與北面高度480米的北大刀屻相連。大刀屻山脊兩側都是懸崖斜坡，因其山勢薄如刀刃而得名。在山頂可飽覽八鄉、錦田、石崗、林村及大帽山一帶的景色。
Tai To Yan means "Big Knife Blade" in Cantonese, which lies in Lam Tsuen Country Park. Its ridge with cliffs like a knife blade. At the hilltop (566 m), it gives spectacular views over Pat Heung, Kam Tin, Lam Tsuen and Tai Mo Shan.
